Criteria for selection:The student must be a first year graduate student in the Teacher Education Program. The recipient will be chosen on the basis of talent and ability, character and financial need. Must have a 3.0 overall GPA.

Description: To assist students who are enrolled in the School of Education and are preparing for a career in teaching.

Description: To assist students who wish to pursue their career and licensure in Science Education.
Criteria for selection: Recipient shall be, at the time of receipt of the scholarship funds, a rising senior or a graduate student accepted into the VT Science Education program. First preference shall be given for financial need, and secondly, scholastic achievement.
Description: To assist students who are enrolled or will be at the time of receipt of scholarship funds in a program to prepare them to teach students K-12.
Criteria for selection: Preference shall be given to student based upon (1) financial need, (2) community service and (3) academic achievement.

Description: This scholarship was established by Dr. Robert S. Whiton, PhD, in honor of his late father, S. G. Whiton, Jr, who was a dedicated high school Chemistry and Physics teacher. It was established to encourage new students to become high school STEM educators.
Criteria for selection: Applicants must meet the following guidelines: 1) a graduate student who received an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline and who is actively pursuing a graduate degree within the School of Education and an endorsement to become a high school science teacher 2) academic merit 3) first preference will be given to candidates whose undergraduate degree is in Chemistry or Physics with second preference given to a candidate with an undergraduate degree in Biology, Math or another STEM discipline.
